Slime Covered Party Animal

Bas and I have just finished up in the shower where I had to cleanse him of the hair gel he'd so lovingly covered himself in. How he even got the jar off the bathroom bench and open, I'll never know, but he did. I'm more than convinced that he didn't eat any of it, but gosh he had a ball. The bathroom floor, his face and clothes were simply covered in slime. When Patrick picked him up (thinking he was actually covered in water from playing in the shower), he had this expression of innocence on his face that made you wonder what he'd been up to.

Last night at the Tongue and Groove Jam Session, he was making friends all over the downstairs bar and singing along to both my set and Patricks'. He loves the place! More than he ever did O'Learys. I think it's because it's a cosier atmosphere, it's 100% Non Smoking and it's nowhere near as loud as O'Learys. Oh, and it has strips of flashing lights on the floor he constantly wants to play with. He's also very welcome there (not that he wasn't welcome at O'Learys, but Tongue and Groove is certainly more relaxed because of it's cafe status than O'Learys pub/restaurant status: the patrons are much cooler and far less likely to be football yobbos), which is great! So Bas acquainted himself with the place in intimate detail, including the table top Space Invaders game, even going so far as to vomiting on an armchair. I think he's made the place home, and Jess seems to really enjoy his company.

Right now he's sleeping off his goop making experience, and probably still recovering from all the fun and excitement of last night. It's good to be able to take him out with us when we perform. I just wish that more licensed establishments were as relaxed.
